Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in developing countries and has
become a serious threat to the people of Indonesia. Cancer treatment is done in
several ways, one of which is by using cytotoxic drugs. Inappropriate use of cytotoxic
drugs can cause unwanted side effects and drug interactions. Therefore it is
necessary to analyze the combination of cytotoxic drugs to increase the accuracy in
the selection of cytotoxic drugs in the treatment of breast cancer. This study aims to
determine the profile and patterns of use of cytotoxic drugs in breast cancer patients
in the inpatient installation of RSI Sultan Agung for the period January-December
2020.
This research is a descriptive non-experimental research. The approach was
carried out retrospectively based on patient medical record data. The data was taken
at RSI Sultan Agung Semarang for the period January-December 2020. The data
obtained were then presented in the form of diagrams and tables. The results
showed that the most breast cancer patients were female, namely 99.6%, and the
most were in the age range of 40-49 years by 35%. Breast cancer patients who came
to RSI Sultan Agung in the January-December 2020 period were mostly at stage 2
(37.1%). The most widely used post- medication drug is a 75% injection of
Dexamethasone-Ondansentron-Ranitidine- Diphenhidramine combination. The most
widely used cytostatic drug was the Docetaxel-Doxorubicin combination of 40.8%
followed by the Cyclophospamide- Doxorubicin-Paclitaxel combination as much as
20.8%, the use of single drugs in hormonal therapy with Tamoxifen as much as 9.2%,
and the least was the
Cyclophospamid combination. -Metotrexate-5Fluorouracyl as much as 0.4%.
