Hypercholesterolemia is a dangerous condition which is characterized by
high levels of cholesterol in the blood (> 240 mg / dL). Simvastatin is a medicine
to lower cholesterol levels in the blood that must be obtained by prescription.
Misleading on using can impact on treatment and the risk of causing unwanted
drug reactions (ROTD). The purpose of this study is determine the level of
knowledge using simvastatin in outpatient at RST dr. Asmir Salatiga.
This type of research used a descriptive design with a prospective
approach, using a questionnaire as a research instrument and was conducted
from February 2021 to April 2021 with a total sample of 80 respondents who met
the inclusion criteria.
The results showed that the level of knowledge on the use of simvastatin
was included in the good category (87.41%) with sub-variable drug indications
(96.3%), medication rules (82.5%), drug dosage (88.8%), how to use drugs
(90%), drug side effects (73.8%) and drug interactions (96.3%).
