Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are infections characterized by the growth and
proliferation of bacteria in the urinary tract, including infections in the renal
parenchyma to the bladder with a certain amount of urine bacteria. The purpose
of this study was to determine the use of antibiotics in hospitalized patients with a
diagnosis of urinary tract infections in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital in
2019 with the right parameters of indication, the right drug, the right patient, and
the right dosage based on the Clinical Practice Guidelines of PKU
Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital and Guideline Pharmacotherapy A
Pathophysiologic Approach.
This type of research is non-experimental research with descriptive methods.
The data was collected retrospectively, by recording medical records of patients
with urinary tract infections who had been hospitalized at PKU Muhammadiyah
Hospital Gombong. The sample in this study were patients diagnosed with
urinary tract infections and hospitalized at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong
Hospital in 2019 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
The results showed that of the 82 cases of Urinary Tract Infection, the most
widely used antibiotic was the cephalosporin group, namely seftriaxon of 41.48%.
Evaluation of the use of antibiotics with the right indication was 100%, the right
drug was 100%, for patient accuracy was 100% and for accuracy. the dose was
75.56% and the wrong dose was 24.44%.
