Pengaruh Metode Ekstraksi Microwave Assisted Extraction dan Perkolasi Terhadap Kadar Total Flavonoid Ekstrak Etanol Batang Serai (Cymbopogon citratus)

Flavonoids are one of the secondary metabolites found in plants. This
compound can be used as antimicrobial, wound infection medicine, antifungal,
antiviral, anticancer, and antitumor. In addition, flavonoids can also be used as
antibacterial, antiallergic, cytotoxic, and antihypertensive. One of the plants that
can be efficacious as medicine and contain flavonoids is (Cymbopogon citratus).
Cymbopogon citratus is one that can be utilized for its more content in the stems
and leaves.
This research is an experimental research. This study aims to determine
the best method for determining the total flavonoid content between the
Microwave Assisted Extraction and percolation methods of ethanol extract of
lemongrass stalks. The extract obtained was then determined for total flavonoid
content using UV-VIS spectrophotometry. Analysis of the data using the SPSS T
test.
The results obtained from this study are that there is a significant
difference between the total flavonoid content produced by the percolation
method and the Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method. The flavonoid
content contained in the ethanol extract of lemongrass stems from the
comparison method resulted in the percolation extraction method being 14,609
mgQE/g higher than the MAE extraction method at 7,676 mgQE/g.
