Puskesmas has implemented health service activities in the form of using
the Family Medicine Garden (TOGA), displaying medicinal plants, and fostering
traditional medicine as a standard for implementing the integration of traditional
health services. The phenomenon of people with complaints of mild illness
chooses to come to the pharmacy to meet with 90.90% pharmacists. The role of
pharmacists is very influential in self-medication of minor illnesses in health
facilities. People choose traditional medicine as a treatment option because it can
be obtained easily without a doctor's prescription. The purpose of this study was
to determine the role of Pharmacy Technicians in the treatment of minor ailments
with the use of traditional medicine at the Semarang City Health Center.
Descriptive method, qualitative quantitative level of explanation with a
theoretical approach to the Health Belief Model which is referred to as a research
instrument in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The sampling
technique used the total sampling method in which all TTK who worked at the
Semarang City Health Center were the sample. Validity and reliability tests were
carried out for the questionnaire and data presentation using statistical
frequencies.
The role of TTK comes in 4 dimensions, namely perceptions of vulnerability,
health motivation, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers. Based on the results
of the distribution of questionnaires and interviews, it was found that the role of
TTK in the use of traditional medicines for the treatment of minor ailments was in
the form of selecting and processing medicinal plants according to the patient's
disease, planting TOGA, and drinking herbal medicine.
