FORMULASI GRANUL EFFERVESCENT EKSTRAK DAUN ASAM JAWA (Tamarindus indicus L. ) DENGAN VARIASI ASAM SITRAT DAN ASAM TARTRAT

leaves of tamarind (Tamarindus indicus L.) contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins,
and alkaloid compounds. Tamarind leaves contain gallic acid which has an
antipyretic effect comparable to Paracetamol 300 mg / kg BW. The aim of this study
was to identify formulas that meet the evaluation requirements based on the
characteristics of the granules and the effect of variations in citric acid and tartric
acid on the physical properties of the effervescent granules.
Tamarind leaves are macerated using 70% ethanol solvent and evaporated to get
a thick extract and all ingredients are mixed by wet method. Tamarindus indicus
leaves can be made into effervescent granules. From the three formulations with
variations of citric acid and tartric acid, the effect of water content, flow time, angle of
rest, and dissolution time of tamarind leaf effervescent granules.
In formulation 1, the results of the water content test were obtained. 0.48%, flow
time 8.2 seconds, angle of rest 37.23 ° and solubility time 1 minute 28 seconds. In
formulation 2, the test results obtained water content of 0.55%, flow time 7.9
seconds, angle of rest 37.95 ° and dissolving time 1 minute 38 seconds. In
formulation 3, the test results obtained water content of 0.63%, flow time 9.4
seconds, angle of repose 33.42 ° and a dissolving time of 1 minute 50 seconds.
