PERBANDINGAN METODE PENETAPAN KADAR VITAMIN B1 PADA KACANG KEDELAI PUTIH SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV DAN VIS

Vitamin B1, which is known as thiamine, is a type of vitamin that has an
important role in maintaining healthy skin and helps convert carbohydrates into
energy that the body needs for daily routines. The purpose of this study was to
compare levels of Vitamin B1 in white soybeans with UV and Vis
spectrophotometric methods.
The method used in qualitative analysis, namely identification of Vitamin
B1 was carried out by annealing using fire, adding cuprifil solution, adding Pb
acetate, adding K₃Fe (CN) ₆ solution then adding NaOH, adding KI solution, and
finally adding NaOH solution then adding KMNO4. . Quantitative analysis of
Vitamin B1 used the UV Spectrophotometric method at a wavelength of 200-400
nm and the Visible Spectrophotometric method at a wavelength of 400-800 nm.
The results of the qualitative test by performing a fire and also the addition
of reagents indicate the presence of Vitamin B in these soybeans. Then proceed
with a quantitative test to determine the levels of Vitamin B1 in soybeans, the
obtained levels from the sample by UV Spectrophotometry are 2.73% ± 0.5% and
Vis Spectrophotometry is 1.24% ± 0.01%.
Keywords: Vitamin B1, white soybeans, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
